Prunus triloba

Prunus triloba

Prunus triloba is a deciduous, springflowering ornamental almond valued for its abundant soft pink blossom on bare shoots in mid to late spring, bringing cheerful colour before the new leaves emerge. Compact and wellsuited to smaller gardens, it performs best in full sun and moist but welldrained, moderately fertile soil. After flowering, light pruning can be used to maintain shape and encourage vigorous young shoots that will bear the following springs display. Fully hardy in Ireland.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
Position: Full sun Rate of Growt
